President of the PMR: Terrorist attacks were planned not only against Pridnestrovians, but also against the OSCE

Members of the terrorist group Vyacheslav Kisnichan and Igor Sikaylo learned their sentence

Tiraspol, March 12. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Terrorists Vyacheslav Kisnichan and Igor Sikaylo, who planned terrorist attacks on the territory of the PMR early last year, were sentenced to real terms of imprisonment. PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about this at today’s meeting with the special representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting.

As the First Pridnestrovian TV channel clarifies with reference to the PMR Prosecutor's Office, Kisnichan received 20 years in prison, while Sikaylo got 12-year sentence. Those convicted can appeal the verdict.

The President recalled that the criminal group was planning terrorist attacks not only against the PMR leadership, but also against the OSCE delegation that visited Pridnestrovie in February last year. If Kisnichan and Sikaylo had succeeded in carrying out their plan, many people could have suffered.

“They were planning a terrorist attack both against you and against us. Unfortunately, both the OSCE Mission and other international institutions ignored such, as it were, insignificant fact. Big deal, the Pridnestrovians would have been killed, would that be a problem? I called on Interpol and the FBI to join the investigation, study the materials, talk with the detainees, and draw conclusions. Yet this did not happen. Therefore, there is only one conclusion: at least, it is an odd attitude towards the Pridnestrovian people,” Vadim Krasnoselsky noted today.

Let us recall that in early March 2023, Pridnestrovian security forces detained Vyacheslav Kisnichan and Igor Sikaylo, two members of a group that, on instructions from the Security Service of Ukraine, carried out surveillance and planned large-scale terrorist attacks in Pridnestrovie. The victims of prevented terrorist attacks could have been not only the leadership of the republic and civilians, but also, as it turned out during the investigation, representatives of the OSCE - including the then current Chairman of the organization, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani.
