The solemn event dedicated to the Day of Knowledge was organized for students of the Pridnestrovian State University named after Taras Shevchenko on the site in front of building "B". It was renovated by the beginning of the school year. This is the next stage of a large university reconstruction, initiated in 2020 by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and implemented under his personal control. The President was among the honored guests of the student holiday today, during which he was reminded that the head building of the university was put in order, furnished and equipped, student dormitories were repaired and equipped, the university was provided with high-speed Internet, the Pridnestrovian State University vehicle fleet was replenished, the student boulevard, university temple under the capital investment program. The Faculty of Medicine was equipped with an interactive educational complex. This year the main attention was paid to building "B". This is one of the oldest objects of university infrastructure. The building, built in the 40s of the last century, was originally heated by stoves. Modernization took place in 1950. There were not global changes after that, only current repairs. There is an urgent need for serious reconstruction. The main work has been completed by September 1 of this year. The classroom fund was not only repaired, but increased from 25 to 34 classrooms. 740 students could visit the classrooms previously, there are 960 now. 14 laboratories and six computer classes have been converted. The library fund was placed more compactly, and the museum area was expanded on the contrary. The resource center, planetarium and observatory have been updated. We are especially proud of the creation of the Quantum multifunctional digital education center.
Addressing students and teachers, the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the infrastructural and technical transformations of the country's main university did not end there. Current results are interim. According to the Head of State, the next step is the student campus, building "B", the buildings of the economic and engineering faculties. The President congratulated the university community on the Day of Knowledge, emphasizing that studying at the university is an important stage of self-education, which should not stop after graduation. The President emphasized the high quality of Pridnestrovian education, expressing gratitude to the teaching staff. He wished the youth to cherish the emotions that students give.
The President again passed with an inspection of the university today. This time the visit is not a working one, but a festive excursion. It was not without presidential recommendations and instructions. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the fact that machinery and equipment should be updated in a timely manner, meeting the requirements of the time. Another significant point, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, is interaction with schoolchildren. High school students will have the opportunity to optionally attend a programming school, university museums, the IT center sections. The PMR President spoke about research work, emphasizing that this is a significant component of the university's activities, which requires constant development and support from the state.
