Vadim Krasnoselsky met the US Permanent Representative to the OSCE

Meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Permanent Representative of the United States to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Michael Carpenter was held at the presidential executive office. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and the US Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova Kent D. Logsdon also took part in the working discussion.

The interlocutors after exchanging greetings indicated their readiness for an open exchange of views on the entire spectrum of issues of mutual interest. They noted the complexity of the geopolitical situation in the world and around Pridnestrovie in particular. They emphasized the importance of maintaining the negotiation formats and continuing the dialogue.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the role of the United States in the process of settling the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian relations. The President noted the negative impact on the dialogue of the long-term stagnation of the “5 + 2” format and emphasized the inadmissibility of the negotiations being paralyzed for a long time. The work of the "Permanent Conference..." should continue at all available levels and platforms, Vadim Krasnoselsky considers. The PMR President emphasized that the busy negotiating agenda can be supplemented with measures aimed at ensuring security, stability and de-escalation. He noted that the so-called law on separatism does not add optimism in terms of establishing relations. The document adopted in Moldova poses a threat to the rights and freedoms of Pridnestrovians and jeopardizes the negotiation process, Vadim Krasnoselsky considers.

The President spoke about his recent conversation with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Bujar Osmani, noting the peace-loving position of the diplomat and his determination to maintain the dialogue, to give it an impetus to resolve the existing problematic aspects. This approach is close to Pridnestrovie, which traditionally stands for a peaceful settlement and withdrawal from the conflict, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.

Discussing the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, Michael Carpenter emphasized that the United States supports a peaceful civilized dialogue in traditional formats and will continue to promote the normalization of relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

The American diplomat spoke about the meeting with members of the public dealing with socially important issues, including combating domestic violence. They talked about various humanitarian projects being implemented with the assistance of the OSCE. The foreign guest paid attention to the assistance provided by Pridnestrovians to refugees from Ukraine, emphasizing that he highly appreciates it.

After discussing the issues of interest to the parties, the meeting participants agreed to maintain working contacts.
