Vitaly Ignatiev: the neighboring states are waging a hybrid war against Pridnestrovie

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR spoke at the round-table meeting of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation

Tiraspol - Moscow, January 25. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Three tendencies have been observed in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian region over the last year: increased pressure on the PMR, the widespread militarization of Moldova, and the total displacement of all elements of Russian influence and participation in the Republic of Moldova.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev spoke about this at today's round-table meeting "Development of the cultural and humanitarian cooperation with compatriots in the modern geopolitical realities". The round-table meeting was organized by the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie noted that Moldova continues to block the negotiation process.
5+2negotiation format does not function. Chisinau comes up with all sorts of excuses. The OSCE, as one of the co-mediators, agreed with the Moldovan position, and as a result, we don’t have an international platform that allows us to articulate the position of Pridnestrovie,” said Vitaly Ignatiev.
Once more he drew attention to the problems with the import of essential goods that Moldova created for the PMR over 2022. Also, according to Vitaly Ignatiev, the Moldovan authorities continue to restrict the freedom of movement of Pridnestrovian vehicles and put pressure on Pridnestrovian citizens at the Chisinau airport. At last, another threat is the law on separatism, which, as it is known, was adopted by the Moldovan Parliament in the first reading.
“According to it, almost any resident of Pridnestrovie can be subjected to repressions, detentions, and criminal prosecution. The situation is unprecedented. The entire world recognizes Pridnestrovie as an equal party in the negotiation process. There is a document on the principles and procedures of negotiations, which determines this equality. And at the same time, one of the parties is making legislative changes, creating a mechanism of repression and, in fact, an unequal dialogue, negotiating under pressure. We have studied the experience of resolving conflicts in other regional spaces, including those on the European continent – there is no such situation anywhere,” said Vitaly Ignatiev.
According to him, these are elements of a hybrid war that neighboring states are waging against Pridnestrovie, and Moldova is the first of them.
“All these processes require a serious reaction from Russia. They concern both Russian citizens in the PMR and all Pridnestrovian compatriots,” the minister pointed out.
