Working meeting of the President with the Head of the state administration of Tiraspol took place at the presidential executive office. Vadim Krasnoselsky and Oleg Dovgopol discussed current plans for the implementation of a number of infrastructure projects. They talked about facilities that together will create a sports and leisure complex in one of the central parts of the city: a stadium, a swimming pool, a skating rink, the Pobeda (Victory) Park and a botanical garden. Each of them is in demand, but all require serious investments.
A stadium in Tiraspol acquired municipal status only last year. Previously, it was considered republican and was administered by the State Service for Sports. Now the city is responsible for the condition and functioning of the significant and highly-demanded facility. A phased reconstruction project has been developed. There are four main blocks. Efforts and funds will be directed to the improvement of the team sports sector this year – modern basketball, volleyball, badminton courts will be created, as well as a zone for physical education for students of the state university. The decision to start with this part is connected among other things with the forthcoming repair of the roadway this year, which is undertaken by the Sheriff company as part of a social project for the restoration of city roads that has been going on for several years. The next stage will be the demolition of the eastern and side stands of the stadium that were recognized as unusable, the laying of the necessary communications and the arrangement of the track and field area. They will begin the existing central tribune reconstruction. It is designed for 4 thousand spectators, the condition is in need of repair, but not critical. Under-tribune premises will be built (this is an important part of the stadium infrastructure). The training fields construction will begin only after that. There will be five of them most likely. The plans include the CONSTRUCTION of an indoor arena, the presence of which will allow the training process to continue in the winter. The reconstruction project of the city stadium as a whole is designed for several years. Both state and municipal financing is assumed. The necessary funds have been allocated for the current year.
At the expense of both the republican budget and the city treasury, the city swimming pool located next to the stadium will be repaired. The bowl has been put in order, but the walls of the premises and the ventilation system need to be updated. This is the plan for this year.
The skating rink near the swimming pool is also to be revived in 2023. This is a city object as well. Experts checked the condition of the equipment. Commissioning was conducted. This is an intermediate step. The skating rink will be launched on a test basis in February in order to get acquainted with all the technical features of its operation in the operating mode. The skating rink will be available to visitors for three months, then the facility will be closed for a global reconstruction in order to completely re-equip it by autumn. They plan to expand the parking by the opening of the renovated ice rink. Visitors to the Pobeda Park will also be able to use it. It is also waiting for renovations. The pavement of the paths inside the park will be replaced this year, and a health path will be laid along the perimeter for supporters of a healthy and active lifestyle. The plans for the next year include tidying up the central part of the park. This work will begin after the reconstruction of the fountain. It will not change visually. The facility will be provided with a filtration system. The creators of the fountain did not think it through, the water turns green, and the bottom requires constant cleaning as a result. The park needs an irrigation system in addition. As for landscaping, it is gradually updated. Two hundred dilapidated trees have been removed, and four times as many are planned to be planted. The grass will be both lawn and natural. The plans for the future include the expansion of the workout zone and the restoration of the scenic park area. Regarding the expediency of preserving and reconstructing the covered stage, opinions differ – the question is still open. During the discussion of the upcoming improvement of the Pobeda Park, Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the need for its high-quality lighting. They mentioned the proposal to create a miniature of Tiraspol, which they want to place in the park. This is a question of a more distant perspective, but the initiators do not refuse the idea as such. The list of objects that should be included in the model, according to Oleg Dovgopol, will be determined after discussion with the city's public.
The next object that was discussed at the meeting is the arboretum. Oleg Dovgopol spoke about the work carried out, noting that the perimeter of the botanical garden is now clearly defined. The foundation of lavender and tulip meadows has been planted. Paths and paths will be paved, gazebos and swings will be installed, and the rose garden will be ennobled this year.
The President noted that the choice of these objects is not accidental. Comprehensive work is ahead, the result of which will be the creation of a single infrastructure ensemble that combines sports, culture, and leisure. It is also important to carry out road works in this part of the city, which will make the facilities more accessible.
They talked in the course of the meeting about progress in the creation of the Museum Quarter. The construction of the main building of the Republican Museum will be completed this year, two additional buildings will be erected, and all facades facing 25 October Street will be repaired along the section from the Memorial of Glory to the descent to the embankment.
