Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the German Ambassador

Meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Moldova Margret Uebber was held at the presidential executive office. The host party was also represented by the PMR Government Chairman Alexander Rosenberg and the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev.

Margret Uebber headed the German embassy in Moldova this year. She has been for the first time in Tiraspol. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed hope for fruitful cooperation. The PMR President noted the activity and effectiveness of German participation in the negotiation process and the work of the “Permanent Conference…” format, recalling the “Berlin +” package adopted during the German chairmanship of the OSCE (2016). The PMR President emphasized that the set of agreements, supplemented later by the Vienna and Rome protocols, has not lost its relevance to this day. Vadim Krasnoselsky stated that the agreements are not being implemented by the Moldovan side, and the negotiation process as a whole is in a state of protracted stagnation. The PMR President focused on the fact that Pridnestrovie remains in favor of continuing the dialogue. The basis for its development is the preservation of peace and security. The same principles, according to Margret Uebber, are adhered to by Germany, which stands for prosperity and stability in the region.

The meeting participants spoke in addition to the negotiation process and the work of the "5 + 2" format about the Pridnestrovian economy and the prospects for bilateral cooperation in this direction. Another topic of discussion is dual education in Pridnestrovie. This direction seems interesting to the German guest, she plans to visit one of the practice-oriented educational institutions of the republic. There are developments of German participation in the project. Margret Uebber emphasized that she welcomes the attention of the first persons of the Pridnestrovian state to this topic. They talked about the teaching of the German language in educational institutions of Pridnestrovie. It is chosen by many schoolchildren and students as a mandatory foreign language. The diplomat was interested in what assistance the German Embassy could provide in this direction.

The interlocutors discussed in detail issues of mutual interest, outlining plans for further cooperation.
