Pridnestrovie and Moldova will continue to seek a way out of the gas and energy crisis

Today, simultaneously with the meeting of political representatives, consultations of experts in the field of energy were held in Chisinau

Tiraspol, December 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie and Moldova will continue consultations aimed at resolving the gas and energy crisis.

At today's meeting of PMR and the Republic of Moldova`s political representatives, the issue of stable gas supply to Pridnestrovie in volumes that correspond to the real needs of the republic was discussed. This is precisely the prerequisite for the resumption of electricity supplies from the Moldavskaya GRES to Moldova. According to the official website of the PMR MFA, "the search for a sustainable balanced solution that meets the objective situation on the market" will continue.

The meeting of political representatives Vitaly Ignatiev and Oleg Serebryan was held in the presence of mediators and observers in the negotiation process. One of the issues of discussion was also the aggravated problems in the field of freedom of movement. Vitaly Ignatiev, in particular, stressed that the detentions of representatives of Pridnestrovie at the Chisinau airport on November 19 and 23 "are discriminatory and violate the gentlemen's agreement between the parties of 2019."

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, the number of cases of violation of freedom of movement, infringing on the rights of ordinary citizens and officials of Pridnestrovie, has increased significantly over the past month.

As for another serious problem - the import of medicines to the PMR, here the Pridnestrovian delegation drew attention to the acute shortage of several medicines for the treatment of oncological and orphan diseases. This is due to the restrictions imposed by Moldova since March. Medicines needed by the population are staying in customs warehouses in the Republic of Moldova for months, which leads to the expiration of their shelf life.

The PMR calls on the Moldovan authorities to implement the agreed decision proposed by experts in April on the mechanism for importing medicines to Pridnestrovie based on the Pridnestrovian register of vital medicines. “The currently imposed drug import procedures are extremely burdensome and discriminatory,” the Foreign Ministry website notes.

In its message, the Foreign Ministry draws attention to the fact that the Republic of Moldova refused to extend the protocol decision on cooperation in the field of telecommunications. This means that we are one agreement of the negotiation process from the Berlin-plus agreement short.

At the meeting of political representatives, the Pridnestrovian delegation also called for the speedy unblocking of the full functionality of vehicle registration points (VRPs) in Tiraspol and Rybnitsa. VRPs, we recall, was created in 2018 to issue neutral license plates. Now this work is not being carried out, since the Moldovan authorities have been delaying preparations for Pridnestrovian license plates for almost a year, and without these license plates, it is impossible to get neutral ones.

At today's meeting, PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev proposed resuming work within the framework of the 5 + 2 negotiation format, taking into account a wide range of topical issues that need to be addressed with the involvement of international participants.
