Tiraspol, October 17/ Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At a meeting with the PMR President, the issue of providing the republic with natural gas was discussed. According to Economic Development Minister Sergey Obolonik, the current situation is difficult. Gazprom decided to reduce the gas supplying volume to Pridnestrovie in October by 30%, and in November by 40% compared to previous years’ same periods. The expected deficit is 36 million cubic meters this month, and for November is a 55 million cubic meters of gas deficit.
According to the PMR President's press service, the republic’s leadership sent letters with requests to Russian addressees, but at the moment it’s necessary to proceed from the existing state of affairs. Economizing is the only way out. The state head stressed that the population should be the main priority. At such a stage, natural gas consumption will be reduced at the industry's expense. It was decided to temporarily reduce its supply to several large enterprises, such as the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant, the Rybnitsa Cement Plant as well as the Moldavian State District Power Plant.
