The PMR President met with the American Ambassador

Meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky with members of the delegation of the US Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, headed by Kent Logsdon took place at the presidential executive office. Welcoming the Ambassador, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that he appreciates the opportunity to communicate with the experienced diplomat with a wealth of knowledge. Outlining the agenda of today's meeting, the interlocutors focused on the situation in Pridnestrovie and along the perimeter of the republic, the negotiation process, ensuring peace and security, assistance to Ukrainian citizens temporarily staying in Pridnestrovie, and the state of affairs in the economy. The guest said that he devoted the first half of the day to communicating with residents and guests of the republic: he met with agricultural producers, visited the temporary residence center for foreign citizens (he noted the high level of support provided to them), and talked with representatives of the Jewish community.

Discussing the geopolitical situation and issues of ensuring the security of the republic, the interlocutors expressed a common opinion that the situation is alarming. Speaking about the stalled negotiation process, the participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of continuing the dialogue even in the conditions of stagnation in the work of the “5 + 2” format. “In view of the impossibility of convening the entire format of the “Permanent Conference ...”, it is necessary to work on various platforms, with various institutions, embassies, “1 + 1” meetings should be updated and have a permanent character. I met with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Polish Foreign Minister Mr. Zbigniew Rau. The Polish chairmanship is aimed at peace. Whoever I meet, everyone talks about peace, nobody talks about war. If this is true, if no one is deceiving or hypocritical, then we need to join efforts to guarantee peace here, in Pridnestrovie,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said in the conversation with the US Ambassador. Kent Logsdon in turn emphasized that he welcomes the desire of Pridnestrovie for peace and supports the calls of the Pridnestrovian side to maintain security and tranquility in the region.

The interlocutors spoke about bilateral relations, discussed current and potential joint projects of a humanitarian nature.
