Vitaly Ignatiev about sabotage in Vladimirovka village: Most probably, the drone arrived from the Ukraine territory

The PMR Foreign Minister reminded that terrorist attacks signs that took place on April 25-26 also lead to a neighboring country

Tiraspol, June 07/ Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev commented on the Russia-24 TV channel about the diversion that took place near the Vladimirovka village. Early in the morning on June 5, two grenades on the vehicle park territory of the Pridnestrovian peacekeeping contingent reserve unit were dropped from an unknown drone.

The Foreign Minister stressed that, fortunately, there were no victims or injured. However, the military equipment received non-critical damage.

Nevertheless, according to Vitaliy Ignatiev, the attack that took place has been a certain “alarming element”, considering the village is located quite close to the Ukrainian border.

“Undoubtedly, our investigation team is working, but, apparently, signals, as well as signs that we have already found, indicate that, most likely, this flying object also arrived from the Ukrainian territory,” the minister noted.

According to Vitaly Ignatiev, the sabotage near the Vladimirovka village has a certain similarity with one of the terrorist attacks that occurred on April 25-26.

“<…> explosive devices dropping from drones is reminiscent of actions that were carried out in the Parkany village: there, they tried to drop an explosive device on the military unit territory. Fortunately, no one was hurt either. At that time, we established that the traces also lead to Ukraine,” the PMR Foreign Ministry head reported.

Since the end of April, several terrorist acts have been committed on the Pridnestrovian territory. On the evening of April 25, unknown persons fired at the State Security Ministry building in Tiraspol. Then, on the April 25-26 night, as a result of the detonation of two explosive devices dropped on the territory of the military unit air base in Tiraspol, the car was damaged. Early in the morning on April 26, in the Mayak village of Grigoriopol region, two antennas of the Mayak Pridnestrovian radio and television center were blown up by unknown persons. On May 5 and 6, 4 explosions occurred near the Voronkovo village of Rybnitsa district, explosive devices were dropped from a drone. Finally, early in the morning of May 13, an attempt was made in Tiraspol to set fire to the Military Commissariat. The fire was quickly extinguished, the building received minor damage, and there were no casualties. On the facts of terrorist attacks and sabotage, criminal cases have been initiated and an investigation is underway. On suspicion of trying to set fire to the Military Commissariat, an RM citizen was detained, who, according to the investigation, acted on instructions from the Republic of Moldova special services.

On June 5, early in the morning, two explosive devices were dropped from a drone on the vehicle park territory of the Pridnestrovian peacekeeping contingent reserve unit in the Vladimirovka region: presumably, there were RGD-5 grenades. There were no casualties or damage. The investigation committee opened a criminal case. Some special examinations have been appointed, and all the circumstances of the sabotage have been established.

In connection with the terrorist attacks in the republic on April 26, a critical, “red” level of terrorist danger was set. Following it, checkpoints were erected at the republic towns’ entrances, law enforcement agencies were transferred to an enhanced version of their service. On May 25, it was lowered to a high, “yellow” level.

Additionally, we note that at the Joint Control Commission meeting held on June 2 in Bendery, the JCC’s co-chairman from Pridnestrovie Oleg Belyakov proposed discussing the situation with drone flights over the Joint Peacekeeping Forces’ facilities. However, Moldova’s Delegation objected to this item's inclusion on the agenda.
