Russian Foreign Ministry condemns attempts to involve Pridnestrovie in what is happening in Ukraine

Russia regards explosions and shelling of objects in Pridnestrovie as acts of terrorism

Tiraspol, April 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Maria Zakharova, commented on the terrorist attacks in Pridnestrovie.

“We are alarmed by the escalation of tension in Pridnestrovie, where in recent days there have been several incidents with shelling, undermining official and infrastructure facilities. We regard these actions as acts of terrorism aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region, and we expect a thorough and objective investigation of all the circumstances of what happened. We strongly condemn attempts to involve Pridnestrovie in what is happening in Ukraine,” Maria Zakharova said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman condemned the "sensational reports" that are heard in Ukraine about the alleged training of Russian peacekeepers, Tiraspol airfield, and Pridnestrovian conscripts for some offensive actions.

“We are recording all this, and all these reports do not cast doubt on the fact that the situation on the left bank of the Dniester, including in the Security Zone, is reliably controlled by the joint peacekeeping forces,” Maria Zakharova emphasized.

The Foreign Ministry is concerned about attempts to use the special operation in Ukraine to increase the blockade pressure on Pridnestrovie. Maria Zakharova recalled that shipments with essential goods, including medicines, are being blocked. Also, there are artificial obstacles to the work of industrial enterprises.

“We call for Pridnestrovie to restraint and calmness, and Chisinau and Tiraspol to return to the practice of a constructive search for optimal solutions to the issues that are on the agenda, issues of interaction between the banks of the Dniester in the interests of the population,” the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman concluded.
