Tiraspol, January 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR MFA hosted a meeting between the Head of the department, Vitaly Ignatiev, and the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, Claus Neukirch.
They talked about the current state of the negotiation process and the possibility of organizing meetings, taking into account the appointment of a representative for political issues from the Republic of Moldova, as well as another renewal of the mandate of the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. Vitaly Ignatiev outlined the immediate priorities of the Pridnestrovian side, confirming the interest in the strict fulfillment of both parties` obligations under the Berlin Plus package.
He made a special emphasis on the need for the early return of Pridnestrovian license plates and other goods of Pridnestrovie detained by the customs authorities of Moldova. The Minister emphasized the groundlessness of such actions, noting that he intends to discuss them in existing formats at the next meetings.
The diplomat also expressed the fundamental interest of the Pridnestrovian side in restoring the activities of the 5 + 2 format, although, according to him, the latest actions of the Republic of Moldova are not encouraging in this context.
The Head of the OSCE Mission, Claus Neukirch, expressed support for a direct dialogue between representatives on political issues, as well as at the level of expert (working) groups to resolve relevant issues, including the resumption of work of vehicle registration points.
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is a mediator in the negotiation process to resolve the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict. The participants of the "Permanent Conference on Political Issues of the Negotiation Process on the Pridnestrovian Settlement" are Pridnestrovie and Moldova - the parties; Russia, Ukraine, OSCE - mediators; The US and the EU are observers.
