Presidential elections took place in Pridnestrovie. The citizens of the republic determine who will head the state for the next five years. There are two candidates in the list. Voting was organized at 257 polling stations. Fifty of them are located in the capital. The current President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky arrived at the Tiraspol section No. 210. The President was accompanied by his wife and eldest daughter.
Having voted, Vadim Krasnoselsky answered questions from journalists. He emphasized that he voted for peace and stability in the country. When asked how he sees Pridnestrovie in five years, the PMR President replied that the goals and objectives set out in the Development Strategy of the republic remain the same. Among the priorities are increase in the level of salaries, pension and other social payments, an improvement in the quality of health care and the possibilities of the education system. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that our goal is to further build socially oriented state with market economy. He sees the future only in development. According to him, Pridnestrovie will continue the path chosen by the people and fixed by the results of the 2006 referendum.
