The building of the department of pathology and forensic medical examination – two new combined buildings were built on the territory of the Republican Clinical Hospital. The old building of the forensic pathology department was built in 1960. It was considered inappropriate to reconstruct it. The facility will operate until the new building is fully commissioned. The premises of modern buildings are equipped with specialized equipment and specific furniture that meets the functionality of institutions at the moment. Construction began in 2018. The total cost of the project is 25 million rubles.
The President, accompanied by the heads of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Head physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital and other officials, examined the building, visited the premises of the forensic medical examination. He paid attention to the already equipped histological laboratory, asked about progress in equipping other sections. According to the Minister of Health Christina Albul, the equipment and technology have been purchased. The installation and assembly are planned to be completed by the end of the year. The terms of the start of work in the updated conditions and the specialists of the pathological department are similar.
Department of the Republican Clinical Hospital, engaged in prosthetics was another department visited by the President. Premises in one of the buildings of the medical town were allocated for it. This is new. The President insisted on its opening. The need was associated with a large demand for hip arthroplasty. These operations were carried out abroad - at the expense of the Pridnestrovian state budget. 10 patients were sent for treatment outside the republic in 2019, 22 in 2020, more than three dozen people in 2021. The total cost in this area for three years is 2.2 million rubles. The need for operations is much wider than coverage at the same time. 735 people in need of this kind of operations were registered this year. 80-90 people are registered annually. A third has bilateral pathology of the hip joint. The country's leadership saw the only decision to create conditions for performing endoprosthetics on the spot with such a volume. The necessary equipment was bought and prostheses were made in Italy. The specialists were trained. The first operation was performed at the end of last week. They told the President today that Moldovan colleagues provide consulting and practical assistance at the initial stage. It is estimated that approximately 400 people will be operated on over the next year. Vadim Krasnoselsky asked about future prospects, in particular, about the replacement of knee joints. They aim to master this direction over time in the Republican Clinical Hospital. The PMR President instructed the leadership of the Ministry of Health to calculate the estimated costs associated with the purchase of additional equipment and the training of specialized specialists. The President drew attention to the new X-ray apparatus: its presence in the department makes it possible to speed up and facilitate the operation and related procedures.
The schedule of today's presidential visit includes a medical facility located in the Zelinsky Street of the Capital. This is a branch of polyclinic number 3. Its employees serve more than 11 thousand residents of Tiraspol. The institution has a procedural, vaccination, first-aid room. A day hospital was organized - for now, for two beds, but in the future it will be expanded based on the need. The laboratory has been thought out: the installation of new equipment is planned for tomorrow, Vadim Krasnoselsky was told. The staff of the polyclinic includes therapists, general practitioners, pediatricians, obstetricians and gynecologists, but it is not fully staffed, specialists are still in short supply, the employees of the polyclinic shared.
The presidential visit is associated with the completion of repair work at this facility. The personal staff says that this is more of a complete renovation and refurbishment of an institution that opened in 2003 and has not been renovated since then. The money was allocated under the capital investment program – more than 2.4 million rubles.
