Tiraspol, October 21 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Union of Pridnestrovian Industrialists, Agrarians as well as Entrepreneurs is proposing to establish several years transition periods that every private car owner in the PMR territory could issue neutral numbers. The Union is also calling for a positive solution to the point of neutral numbers issuing for vehicles belonging to Pridnestrovian commercial structures, including vehicles, carrying out the regular passenger transport services.

This’s stated in the Union's appeal to the Russian, Ukrainian, EU, USA, and OSCE diplomatic missions heads accredited in Moldova.

The Union of Pridnestrovian Industrialists, Agrarians, and Entrepreneurs appealed to diplomats to help resolve the road transport crisis, arousing after the Ukrainian embargo on cars with Pridnestrovian numbers entry from September 1 at the Moldovan authorities’ suggestion. The Union draws attention to the fact that about 11 thousand Pridnestrovian individual entrepreneurs, who imported goods from Ukraine by their cars, suffered from such a decision. The transport companies working particularly passenger carriers also stopped. To the present day, about 18 international routes have been lost, more than 40 buses stand idle, over a hundred transport companies employees have lost their jobs.

“For more than a month, Pridnestrovian residents haven’t been able to visit their relatives from Ukraine and far abroad,” the Union of Pridnestrovian Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs appeal, signed by the organization head Yuri Cheban, notes.

“On behalf of the Pridnestrovian business community, we asking you not to allow unexpected initiatives on Moldova’s part unilaterally aimed at creating artificial barriers to the free movement of Pridnestrovian residents and vehicles across the Ukrainian border,” the document emphasized. 

The Union of Pridnestrovian Industrialists, Agrarians and the Entrepreneurs with the PMR Transport as well as Road Workers Association sent an appeal to the diplomatic missions. According to it, currently, the Bendery - Kyiv, Tiraspol - Moscow, Dnestrovsk - St. Petersburg, Chisinau - Vapniarka, Tiraspol - Balta as well as international routes to Odesa, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, Zatoka, and many others are closed for Pridnestrovian carriers.

“At the same time, the Pridnestrovian segment of the transport services market is actively exploring by Moldovan carriers, however, prohibitive measures taken contribute to this market seizing,” the Association appeal reports.

The Protocol Decision of April 24, 2018, which determined the procedure for obtaining neutral numbers for private Pridnestrovian car owners, there’s a clause that Tiraspol and Chisinau will begin working on a similar mechanism creating for cargo and passenger vehicles. However, this issue discussion is still being dragged out by the RM representatives in every possible way.
