Tiraspol, October 12 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The September inflation in Pridnestrovie reached 1.4 percent. Generally, since the year beginning, the inflation rate in the republic amounted to 4.3 percent.

The increasing price of food groups traditionally influenced the September inflationary background. The decisive contribution was made by the rising prices for vegetables (for 31 percent more compared to August), as well as for meat (for 7.4 percent more). Additionally, prices for canned fish as well as canned vegetables, fruits, and berries, mayonnaise sauce, cheese, eggs, pasta, and confectionery risen.
At the same time, prices decrease was noted in the fruit and citrus group (for 7 percent less). The average price of potatoes fell by 1.5 percent, the State Statistics Service reported.
Moreover, against the inflation background, the prices level in the non-food sector, as well as the service sector, remained practically unchanged in September compared to August.
