Chronicle of PMR events the third edition published

Anna Volkova’s book will be interesting to everyone who studies history and wants to know the Pridnestrovian unicity

Tiraspol, October 07 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Chronicle of PMR principal events was presented at the Shevchenko Pridnestrovian State University. It is the 3rd enlarged edition. Authors are Igor Krisko, Alexander Frants, Roman Tatarov, and the State Advisor to the PMR President Anna Volkova.

The first edition was presented in the year 2007, the second one in 2010. It reflects the most significant events that took place in our region’s territory.

“The Chronicle provides insight into not only of the 30-year path undertaken by the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic but also an understanding of the Pridnestrovian historical roots, beginning with the Paleolithic era and ending with today. Around such a basis, research can be built up and developed. There’re different nature events in the political, social, economic, cultural as well as other spheres of our life,” Anna Volkova explained.

The book was planned to be published last year for the 30th republic anniversary. However, due to the pandemic and resources shortage, it was postponed. The illustrated edition will be efficient not only for teachers or students but also for a wide range of readers.

“The main value of publishing edition is that it’s very clear about the events that took place on our republic’s territory. It is a kind of youth outreach plan: you need to take, read and teach,” the first PMR President Igor Smirnov commented on.

Additionally, the Chronicle is an efficient book for those who want to understand what Pridnestrovie exactly is. How and why the state was established and what’s special about it compared to other countries.

“Sometimes it’s difficult to find such a succinct and quick understanding of what Pridnestrovie is like from some books. This book is how we are connected with distinguished historical events, who we are, who’re our ancestors, and those people who inhabited our region for centuries. It is also important because it formed the Pridnestrovian character. I think that the most important thing is that with this book, it’ll be easier to answer what the Pridnestrovian uniqueness is all about,” the Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev noted.
