Tiraspol, August 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. For 7 months of this year, the industrial output in Pridnestrovie reached almost 9.4 billion rubles, which is 1.4 times higher than in January-July 2020 in current prices and almost 15% in real terms. As noted in the review of the Ministry of Economic Development of the PMR, business is better than last year in 7 out of 11 industries.

Growth, in particular, is demonstrated by all four leading industries: ferrous metallurgy, electric power, light and food industries. In total, they account for almost 90% of all industrial output. The largest increase in production volumes compared to 2020 is noted in metallurgy (+ 117.5% in current prices and + 35.2% in real terms) this year.

“In the absence of fundamental prerequisites for a significant decrease in demand for metal products, it is expected that a high utilization of the industry's production capacities will continue in the coming months, which, given the accumulated momentum, makes it possible to predict an almost twofold increase in the industry's production volume by the end of 2021,” the authors of the review note.

Growth is also noticed in the light industry (almost 20% in real terms) and the electric power industry.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development, by the end of 2021, a general increase in industrial production can be expected by almost a third compared to the level of last year in Pridnestrovie. This is facilitated by an improvement in the epidemiological situation and an increase in business activity both within the republic and abroad, the implementation of deferred demand, as well as continuing high prices for the products of key manufacturers - the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant and the Moldavian RHPP.
