Another batch of Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Janssen vaccines arrived in Pridnestrovie

Tiraspol, August 16 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. An additional batch of Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Janssen coronavirus vaccines arrived in Pridnestrovie today. Medications were sent as humanitarian aid from the World Health Organization on the COVAX mechanism.

According to the deputy head physician for sanitary and epidemiological issues of the Republican Centre for Hygiene Inna Paladi, about 5256 doses of Pfizer vaccines were received. Every of which will be distributed among those Pridnestrovians to whom the medication second dose will be injected into.

The AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in three thousand doses number. Its half is for those who are waiting for the second vaccine dose. The rest of medication is for those who decided to protect them from the coronavirus.

The Janssen vaccine in seven and a half thousand doses number is accessible for everyone interested.

 “All these vaccines can be distributed just-in-time. At the moment, they were received by Bendery, Tiraspol, Kamenka and Rybnitsa. Every vaccine will be on open access at polyclinics. Every Pridnestrovian citizen can schedule and then come for vaccination,” the specialist explained.

Presently, Johnson & Johnson as well as AstraZeneca vaccines are accessible to the republic population.

Totally, 80,920 Pridnestrovian citizens were vaccinated (it’s about 17.4% of the republic population).

 “Unfortunately such number is still not enough to stop the pandemic. It’s necessary to vaccinate at least 60% of population for building up a collective immunity to. I urge everyone to undergo a vaccination,” Inna Paladi noted.

The specialist also emphasized that currently negotiations are underway to the next Pfizer vaccine’s batch supplying to Pridnestrovie.
