The Moldovan side disrupted the Joint Control Commission emergency meeting

It was supposed to discuss the recent provocations on the part of unionists

Bendery, June 25 /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Joint Control Commission emergency meeting was disrupted by Moldova. Today a provocation there was to discuss by unionists. They tried to cross a Pridnestrovian border without documents, first through Rybnitsa, then through the Varnitsa checkpoint. Nationalists expanded campgrounds and organized protest rallies. The Pridnestrovian side remained unprovoked. On the contrary, it made conditions available for protesters by supplying them with water.

In that regard that an emergency meeting of the JCC was convened. However, after an hour of fruitless expectancies, the delegation from Moldova, violating the JCC rules, simply didn’t arrive. According to the Russian delegation co-chairman, Andrey Gorobtsov, the Moldovan side failure to attend the emergency meeting would undermine the JCC work.

“It seems to me that the walkout in protest on the Moldovan delegation part was not very relevant. I see no real or serious reason in it, perhaps with exception of some emotional ones. At this point you can even see a certain danger, which is created artificially, for the Joint Control Commission mechanism effective operation as well as its discreditation, if we even go beyond,” he noted.

The Moldovan unionists were going to cross Bendery as well as Tiraspol borders. The main goal is to campaign for the Moldova as well as Romania unification. Nationalists are preparing for the upcoming pre-term parliamentary elections.

“The Romanian nationalists expressed their intentions on the 11th of this month, to create such a problem on the Moldovan elections day at all checkpoints. And in such conditions, the joint peacekeeping forces, if they aren’t ready to localize these situations, will naturally sign a written acknowledgment that they are strengthless,” Oleg Belyakov, the JCC co-chairman from Pridnestrovie commented the situation on.

The Pridnestrovian side initiated the military observers’ departure to the incident’s scene. The proposal has been blocked by Moldova for a long time. As a result, everyone left for the place. Admittedly, it was Moldova that didn’t sign the military observers’ report.

“The unwilling to consider this issue within the military observers’ framework, joint peacekeeping forces and nowadays, as a result, within the JCC emergency session framework… What does that suggest? First of all, that the Moldovan side has chosen the mechanisms of the peacekeeping operation purposeful destruction as a framework for its activities” Oleg Belyakov believes.

“The Pridnestrovian side has a positive, constructive attitude and was ready to postpone any measures that are regulated by Pridnestrovie. In order to wait for this problem solution, theoretically speaking, “heroes of the occasion.” But, unfortunately, despite promises, the Moldovan side failed to resolve this problem. It only became more complicated and aggravated. And now we see that the situation is the following – there are threats of confrontational harassment,” Andrey Gorobtsov, the JCC co-chairman from the Russian Federation commented the situation on.

The Russian side has put forward an initiative to hold joint training exercises for peacekeepers from all sides, including Moldova. The issue is planned to be included in the next meeting agenda. The Pridnestrovian side will prepare an appeal to all Joint Control Commission members to assess all events taking place in the Security Zone, including the Moldova’s disruption of the JCC emergency meeting.
