The industry grew by more than 16% in five months

Since the beginning of the year, the export of goods has increased by 37.8%

Tiraspol, June 21. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In May, the volume of industrial production was at the level of 1 billion 363.9 million rubles. As the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank writes with reference to the State Statistics Service, due to the low comparison base, this indicator exceeded the value of May last year by 16.4%.

As for the comparison with the April figures, due to the fewer working days in May, production parameters decreased by 3.4% (in comparable prices).

From January to May, the volume of the issue amounted to 6,300 million rubles, which is 16.2% higher than the same values ​​of the previous year. Without taking into account the ferrous metallurgy and the electric power industry, which set the upward trend, growth was also recorded at the level of 4.7%.

Due to the increased business activity on a global scale and the continuing rise in commodity prices, the indicators of foreign economic activity of residents not only continued the recovery trend, but also reached multi-year highs.

Thus, the statistical value of exports was $ 73.5 million, which is 10% higher than the previous month and 1.6 times higher than in May last year. Imports of goods, having increased by 0.3% versus April and 1.7 times in annual terms, amounted to 115.1 million dollars. The balance of foreign trade operations amounted to -41.6 million dollars (against -48 million rubles in April) ...

Since the beginning of the year, the export of goods has grown by 37.8% (to $ 324.6 million), while imports - by 17.2% (to $ 506.4 million). As a result, the negative trade balance was recorded at $ 181.8 million, which is 7.4% less than the deficit in the same period of the previous year.

Against the background of record high prices on the world market, production parameters in the ferrous metallurgy in May reached their maximum level since the beginning of the year - 652.5 million rubles. This is 10.7% more than in April and 1.5 times more than in May last year.

The industrial output from the beginning of the year amounted to 2,676.6 million rubles, 1.4 times higher than the results of the previous year. Crude steel production capacity and the commercial output of rolled products increased.

The export of metals and metal products amounted to $ 171.1 million since the beginning of the year, which is 2.2 times more than a year ago. The purchases of goods of this group abroad doubled to $ 122.7 million.

The May volume of generation in the electric power industry was formed at around 322 million rubles, which, against the background of the traditional reduction in consumption in the warmer seasons, yielded 13.3% to the level of April, but exceeded the parameters of the base period by 1.4%.

Since the beginning of the year, the production amounted to 1,759 million rubles, exceeding the base figure by 8.8%. Electricity supplies abroad were at the level of $ 63.8 million in January-May. This is + 7.3% compared to last year.

For the second month in a row, a decrease in production parameters has been observed in the light industry. In May, the production volume amounted to 119.5 million rubles, which is almost 12% less than the April level, but 28.2% more than the value of the base period. In general, in January-May, the volume of production was formed at the level of 639.9 million rubles, which, due to the low comparison base, is 16.5% more than the parameters of the previous year. The growth was noted in the context of most of nomenclature items, including the increase in sewing of clothes, textiles, cotton fabrics and footwear.

Sales abroad amounted to $ 29.6 million since the beginning of the year, exceeding the base figure by 34.8%. At the same time, imports expanded by 41.3% to $ 23.9 million.

In the building materials industry, the upward trend observed since the beginning of the year was interrupted in May. The volume of production decreased to 52.3 million rubles, yielding 5.6% to the value of the previous month and 14% to the level of the base period. Since the beginning of the year, industrial output has developed within 92% of the comparable indicator for 2020, amounting to 172.9 million rubles. The production of wall materials, lime, ready-mixed concrete, nonmetallic building materials and cement decreased. However, the supply of sand, cement and gravel to foreign partners has expanded.

Output in the electrical industry in May amounted to 23.6 million rubles, which is 6.7% higher than the April value, but yielded 21.5% to the parameters of the base period. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of production in the industry has formed at around 101.6 million rubles, which is 15.6% below the level of the base period. Laminated electrical insulating materials, winding wires, cable products, as well as electrical machines and low-power electric motors were produced less.

Output in mechanical engineering in May exceeded the level of both the previous month and May last year by 16.3% and 14.5%, respectively, reaching 29.1 million rubles. Since the beginning of this year, the output in the industry has formed at the level of 104.8 million rubles, yielding to the basic value of 0.2%. At the same time, the export of goods of the engineering industry decreased by 9%, to 9.2 million dollars. Imports increased in absolute terms to 59.7 million dollars (+ 32.3%).

The results of the work of chemical industry enterprises in May yielded 3% to the April level, but exceeded the value of the base period by 2%, amounting to 26.9 million rubles. Industrial output amounted to 117.4 million rubles since the beginning of the year, which is 16.7% lower than last year's figures. The production of prepreg, synthetic resins, varnishes, as well as fiberglass and fiberglass products decreased. Sales of chemical products abroad amounted to $ 5.5 million (+ 2.3%) since the beginning of the year. Purchases of goods in this group were at the level of $ 40.6 million (+ 16.4%). 

The food industry produced products worth 124.2 million rubles in May, which is 11.2% less than the April level, but 1.2% more than last year. The volume of production has formed at the level of 647.5 million rubles since the beginning of the year, exceeding the last year's figure by 8.8%. The output of alcoholic beverages, smoked fish, dumplings, vegetable and animal oils, as well as confectionery products has grown. At the same time, the output of cheeses, whole milk products, fresh (chilled) meat, semi-finished meat products, pasta, bread and bakery products decreased.

For the third month in a row, the volume of output in the flour-and-cereals industry was characterized by a decrease: in May by another 21.5% against the level of the previous month and by 42% against the parameters of the previous year. As a result, the volume of production was at the minimum level since the beginning of the year - 11.2 million rubles. The production in January-May amounted to 67.7 million rubles, which was 22.2% lower than the base value. The production of flour, bran and cereals decreased.

Exports of food products and raw materials amounted to $ 34 million (-26.2% to the base value) from the beginning of the year. Imports grew by 3.6% to $ 59.7 million.

In the printing industry, after the April increase in production in May, there was a decrease in output by 4.9% against the value of the previous month and by 19.3% against the parameters of the previous year (up to 1.8 million rubles). In January-May, the production volume amounted to 8.7 million rubles, which is 19.1% less than last year. A decrease was observed in relation to most groups of goods: books and brochures, paper and white goods, stationery, art publications, newspapers, albums and student notebooks.
