The President visited the Military Historical Memorial Complex, honoring the memory of the fallen residents of Bendery, defenders, Cossacks

The PMR President visited the Military-Historical Memorial Complex, known to the residents of Bendery as a military necropolis as part of commemorative events timed to coincide with the 29th anniversary of the tragedy in Bendery. Thanks to the initiative and personal involvement in the implementation of the project by Vadim Krasnoselsky, the former military cemetery has turned into an important historical site. Among the burials and monuments that remind of various milestones in the history of Bendery, there are those that tell about the tragic moments of our time. On June 19, 2010, on the 18th anniversary of the tragedy in Bendery, a composition of black granite slabs, the intersection of which forms a cross, was installed here in memory of the defenders and civilians of the city of Bendery who died in the 1992 events. Today the President laid flowers at the memorial sign. The President paid attention to the personal burial located next to the monument - the grave of resident of Bendery Nina Ivanovna Olar. Her life was cut short on July 3, 1992 in front of her husband, who buried his wife, who died from the weapons of Moldovan nationalists, in the territory of an old cemetery located not far from their house. This was the only way out in the conditions of active hostilities, which did not allow getting to the existing cemetery. Later, during the creation of the Military-Historical Memorial Complex, the grave of a resident of Bendery was decorated in a proper way and is now an integral part of the memorial complex, as every life cut short is a part of the common Pridnestrovian tragedy.

Another modern memorial sign installed on the territory of the necropolis is the Cossack Memorial Cross. It appeared here last year, symbolizing the heroism of the Cossacks who gave their lives defending Prindestrovie from the Moldovan nationalist aggressors. The monument was created in Bendery with funds raised by representatives of the local Cossacks, with the assistance of the leadership of the city and the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky laid scarlet carnations at the Cross.
