Tiraspol wrestlers won medals on the Romanian Championship

Trainees of the capital Sports School of Wrestling and Boxing won two medals at the International Tournament in Greco-Roman Wrestling

Tiraspol, June 8. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The International Tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling was held in Romania and brought together the strongest representatives of the classical type of wrestling from 23 countries. The competition was held under the auspices of the UWW (International Federation of Greco-Roman, Freestyle and Women's Wrestling, which are Olympic sports).

The Tiraspol Wrestling and Boxing School delegated two trainees to the Romanian mat - Semen Brekkel and Roman Balkivsky. Both won bronze medals.

“The guys performed well. Semen Brekkel competed in the 82 kg weight category and defeated his Hungarian and Israeli opponents. While Roman Balkivsky in his weight of 97 kg turned out to be stronger than his competitors from Finland and Spain. As a result, we have two prize-winners of these impressive starts,” Alexander Shemetov, Director of the Tiraspol Sports School for Wrestling and Boxing, summed up the international voyage.

Rostislav Koval, trainee of Dubossary Youth Sports School No 3, also took part in the competition. He fought in the weight category up to 97 kg. The athlete lost to the Estonian athlete and took third place in his weight category.
