It concerns a large number of our citizens. In this part, there are many unresolved problems, such as our educational documents’ recognition, vital records certificates, which are drawn up in our registry offices, the recognition of court decisions as well as adoptions and the paternity establishment. There’s a large chain of such problems that should be resolved. And despite the fact that there is a range of agreements as well as arrangements and the citizens’ rights are violated,” Galina Antyufeeva noted.

The Vice Speaker of the Parliament is confident that thanks to Pridnestrovian human rights defenders as well as Russian colleagues’ cooperation, it will be possible to make the right decisions together as well as collaboratively and help to resolve all problems surfaces by Pridnestrovian citizens. The citizen’s rights and freedoms protection is the primary target of all Pridnestrovian state authorities.

According to Russian human rights defender Oleg Ivannikov, the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights has existed for over 15 years and is the most authoritative Russian human rights organization. The main aims as well as organization problems are in the name. This is the protection of human rights and freedoms. Oleg Ivannikov additionally added that he is working in our republic for the first time, but and the entire problem was studied by him remotely.

“Over the past year, we began to receive very disturbing messages from the PMR about human rights violations. Its spectrum has a very wide range, it affects almost all activity’s areas, starting with certification ending with medical services. We are collecting information, our specialists summarizing and analyzing it and then will publish a composite book, which will be in the form of certain recommendations on the human rights’ observance,” Oleg Ivannikov, the expert of the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights noted.

The expert explained that a developed report will be sent to the Russian Federation President’s Administration and to the General Prosecutor’s Office to conduct verifications in some cases and to develop a range of recommendations on how to improve the situation in other ones. For instance, this concerns the impossibility for Pridnestrovians to replace expired Russian international passports.

“The egregious themes, which are affecting hundreds of citizens, who are living in the republic, are extremely important. In September, elections to the Russian Federation State Duma will be held. Citizens should make their choice with valid Russian international passports, because at that moment about 200 thousand Russian citizens are living on the PMR territory. The electoral system doesn’t require for voting with expired passports; this should be resolved promptly, quickly and within reasonable time limits. We haven’t much time until September, during which the Consular department should fully complete all resources as well as ensure the citizens’ right to vote,” Oleg Ivannikov, an expert at the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights added.

The Russian human rights defender believes that since the year of 2014, the pressure on the republic has increased from both Moldova and Ukraine. According to experts from the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights, the current situation is unacceptable, economic pressure always leads to negative consequences. Therefore, such issues need to be discussed at international platforms.
