Russian human rights defenders will publish recommendations on the observance of human rights in the PMR

The corresponding report is planned to be sent to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation

Tiraspol, May 19. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A well-known Russian human rights activist, an expert from the Moscow Human Rights Office, Oleg Ivannikov, is currently visiting Pridnestrovie. Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva met with him today.

“Over the past year, we began to receive very alarming reports from the PMR about human rights violations. The range is very wide. It practically affects all areas of activity, from introducing a passport system to medical services. We collect information, our specialists summarize it, analyze it, then a collection will be published in the form of certain recommendations on the observance of human rights,” Oleg Ivannikov, an expert of the Moscow Human Rights Office said.

The expert explained that there would be formed a report, which will be sent to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation and the General Prosecutor's Office to conduct inspections in some cases and to develop recommendations on how to correct the situation in other cases. For example, this concerns the impossibility for Pridnestrovians to change an expired Russian passport.

In addition, the Russian human rights activist believes that pressure on Pridnestrovie has increased both from Moldova and from Ukraine since 2014. According to experts from the Moscow Human Rights Office, the current situation is unacceptable. Economic pressure always leads to negative consequences. Therefore, such issues need to be discussed at international venues.

Let us remind you that cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Moscow Offices was discussed during the April meeting of President Vadim Krasnoselsky with the head of the organization, a member of the Council for the Development of Civil Society under the President of the Russian Federation, Alexander Brod. Then they agreed to develop cooperation in the field of protecting the rights of Russian citizens and compatriots living in our republic.

The Moscow Human Rights Office is a Russian human rights organization founded in 2002. It monitors human rights violations in Russia and studies the facts of xenophobia, racial discrimination, anti-Semitism and religious persecution in the regions.
