Moscow, April 08. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky gave an interview to the Russia Today international information holding company. During the meeting, the issue of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus arrival in Pridnestrivie was raised.
“The agreement in principle with the Russian Federation Presidential Administration, specifically with its Deputy Head Dmitry Kozak, was reached on December 28. It concerned such aspect as this anti-coronavirus vaccine to Pridnestrovie supplying. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, there were technical difficulties: there was no Sputnik V registration in Moldova, as well as commercial price for this vaccine.”
According to the PMR President, currently, all these issues have been already resolved. The Sputnik V vaccine will arrive in Pridnestrovie in two batches: about 42 thousand doses will be delivered in April, and about 20 thousand doses in May. In terms of how exactly the vaccine will be delivered to the PMR territory, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that specialized professionals are now working on logistics.
“Considering the appeals number to the President as well as the Government connected with Sputnik V, personally I think that the overwhelming majority of Pridnestrovians trust this particular medication,” Vadim Krasnoselsky shared.
During the interview, the PMR President was asked whether he would be vaccinated with the Russian vaccine. The head of the Pridnestrovian state reminded that vaccination in the republic is of the voluntary nature and added:
“Naturally, at necessary time when there will be some particular indications for that I will vaccinate against COVID-19”.
