The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky in the course of his working visit to the Russian Federation met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrey Rudenko. The dialogue took place at the site of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Ambassador-at-Large Vitaly Tryapitsyn and Director of the Second Department of the CIS Countries Alexei Polishchuk took part on the Russian side and the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev on the Pridnestrovian side.

Vadim Krasnoselsky in his welcoming speech thanked the Russian side for the systemic support of Pridnestrovie in various spheres, including countering the COVID-19 coronavirus infection pandemic. The President expressed special gratitude to the Russian side for providing the republic with a batch of Sputnik V vaccine.

The interlocutors during the conversation touched upon a wide range of issues within the framework of Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation and the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. According to the PMR President, there are alarming tendencies in the negotiation process associated with the further degradation of the dialogue and a critical drop in its dynamics and effectiveness at all levels.

Special attention was paid to new problems and threats, including the freedom of movement of Pridnestrovian motorists, which could negatively affect the settlement process. In this regard, mutual opinion was expressed on the inadmissibility of making any unilateral decisions that could harm the interests of the residents of Pridnestrovie. The meeting participants spoke in favor of the early resumption of the active work of all negotiating mechanisms.

Vadim Krasnoselsky and Andrei Rudenko continuing the discussion discussed promising spheres of cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation. They talked about development of interaction in the social, humanitarian and trade and economic spheres, ensuring the rights and interests of the PMR residents, and the functioning of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester. The Pridnestrovian in this context side presented a number of practical proposals to intensify bilateral contacts, as well as stabilize the situation around the republic.

The parties at the end of the meeting expressed readiness to continue the established friendly contacts on the entire spectrum of topical issues.
