Tiraspol, April 05. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. “The history of a city, which was described by the park”. This’s the title of the ESTET international magazine article about one of the main sightseeing attractions of Tiraspol, the Catherine Park.
The article author notes that there are more than two thousand historical and cultural monuments in Pridnestrovie. According to the magazine publication, there is an opportunity to expand the boundaries of tourists’ routes with the newest places appearance, such as the Catherine Park, which lays claim to being the republic cultural heritage.
“The majestic empress, holding a decree on the construction of fortresses series with an urban environment in the Dniester valley, is sitting solemnly on the throne. Her figure mystically reminds of the “the Russian world outpost” idea in the “wild west”, with which the young Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic will be identified two centuries later,” the article describes.
The author adds that all central park elements are permeated with the Catherine era spirit. These are ornate arches, small architectural forms as well as graceful fountains.
“The personal courtyard monogram, double-headed eagles, stylized baroque lampposts, buildings in the classicism style: all this reminds of the time when the Pridnestrovian history of Russia had been begun,” the ESTET magazine is writing.
The Catherine Park construction is the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky personal initiative. It was opened on September 1 in the year of 2020.
The international magazine ESTET on its pages explores themes of culture, art, music as well as beauty.
