Tiraspol, March 22. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Series of Moscow meetings will give a start to new relationships between various structures not only Russian, but also Pridnestrovian government bodies, Alexander Korshunov, the Chairman of the Supreme Council noted, following the results of the parliamentary-government delegation’s visit to the Russian capital.
Alexander Korshunov during an interview with the parliamentary press service, reminded that within a week a large number of meetings took place at different levels and at such platforms as: the State Duma, the Federation Council, Ministries and Departments, including the United Russia party faction and a round table at which Russian politicians gathered together with representatives of legislative and executive government branches, including the Administration of the Russian Federation President. At all that platforms, the Pridnestrovian delegation’s representatives raised issues that are of concern to Pridnestrovians at present. First of all, it’s the fight against the pandemic: the vaccines, medicines, medical equipment and ambulances’ availability.
“We understand that besides the pandemic, there’re a number of other issues that are important not only for the entire Pridnestrovie, but for its citizens too. This’s the presence of a simplified procedure for adopting Russian citizenship as well as the difficulties in the working of the Tiraspol consular office. The supporting issues of socially vulnerable population groups were raised. We believe that this’s an important sphere, because, according to statistics, a large number of Pridnestrovian citizens are disabled people, who have a very low-income bracket. We asked our Russian colleagues to find an opportunity for supporting our citizens,” the parliamentary speaker stressed.
The main PMR parliamentary-governmental delegation’s aim was to participate in the working meeting at the round table dedicated to Pridnestrovie. The event took place at the State Duma Committee for Commonwealth of Independent countries platform. The delegation representatives informed their colleagues about the difficulties that Pridnestrovie is experiencing in modern conditions. As a result of the round table, a draft decision was adopted. Within a week, the State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs will consider all amendments received, and the Russian Federation President Administration, the Federation Council, the Russian Federation State Duma as well as the Government will receive the final document.
“This document is a kind of the impulsion for a new relationships’ spiral between Pridnestrovie and Russia, in order to define directions that are worrisome to Pridnestrovie today. These are goods’ export to the Russian Federation, the Pridnestrovian investment policy for the Russian investor, humanitarian assistance to fight the pandemic in the form of vaccines, medical equipment and medicines. This’s supporting not only socially vulnerable groups of the population, but also the agro-industrial complex in connection with the drought,” the Supreme Council’s Head explained.
Alexander Korshunov reminded that due to the drought, the PMR economy and agrarians incurred heavy casualties. As a result, the republic’s budget didn’t receive enormous financial resources. All this will be reflected in the final decision of the round table. The proposal to sign a protocol on mutual cooperation and association at a high level will be one of this document’s main points.
“This isn’t an innovation for Pridnestrovie and Russian Federation. In our relationships framework, we already had such protocols. In our opinion, the new protocol should include both general interaction principles (this’s the peacekeeping format’s preservation on the PMR territory, as well as the work of the consular office and the Russian citizenship’s receiving), and individual projects, related to the agro-industrial complex, infrastructure, and other social projects. I think that such document’s signing will be the kind of new impulsion, a new starting point in relations between Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation,” Alexander Korshunov emphasized.
This protocol will become a target program and a kind of reference point in relationships between all government bodies of PMR and Russia. Each ministry or department will clearly understand what is necessary to be done and in what direction to implement this or that assistance in the cooperation. “Unfortunately, nowadays such assistance is still remaining impossible, because of a connection document’s absence, on the basis of which all decisions on this or that project’s implementation will be made,” the parliamentary speaker noted.
After the relevant the Russian Federation government bodies will receive the decision of the round table, a working on this document’s formation will begin. Alexander Korshunov expressed his hope that within a year it will be signed, after which a new format will be adopted by the interaction between Russia and Pridnestrovie.
