Tiraspol, December 7. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A forgotten film was found in one of the premises of the Bendery Central Library. For many years the film was in a broken film projector. Only recently it became possible to view the newsreel of 1989, Bendery television reports.
“In the old cinematograph was found a footage, that had been there since 1992 by pure accident. They began to scroll footage just before the outbreak of hostilities and didn’t finish it. Since then, it has been inside the cinematograph. And we found it now, 28 years later,” the historian and ethnographer Alexander Tikhonov explained.
The chronicle of 30 years ago included the first beauty contest, consultation in the shoe-making workshop with Italian specialists, the work of weaving enterprises, newweddies, children, the Strugurash and Prietenia dance ensembles, rowing and football.
Archival footage was exposed from various angles: there is even aerial photography from a helicopter. In total 17:30 minutes of Bendery’s video chronicle.
Television workers together with librarians became the first viewers of the historical film. A large audience will also see it.
