Tiraspol, December 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The best juniors from all over Europe gathered in Sofia, Bulgaria. Boxers are 15-16 years old. Two Pridnestrovian athletes are among the winners of the European Championship.
The bronze medal in the weight category over 80 kg was won by a trainee of the Tiraspol boxing school Nikolay Burduzha. Athlete from the capital Irina Chubova took the third place in the weight category of 54 kg. Both prize-winners represent Vityaz sports club.
“Our boxers had a decent and competitive season despite the situation with the coronavirus. It hit hard not only our plans, but also plans of boxers all over the world. They managed to take part in international competitions in autumn. And so the European Junior Championship has been the final competition this year. Our guys are already experienced athletes. They have already competed at the European Championship: though, among schoolchildren. They took medals this year," the honored boxing coach of the republic Maxim Chertykovtsev assessed the European voyage.
The Pridnestrovian delegation of boxers is still in Sofia. The Vityaz trainees will come back home with bronze medals.
