Tiraspol, December 1. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Deputies of the Russian Federation State Duma Artem Turov and Sergey Chizhov held a reception of citizens in Tiraspol. The meeting took place in the receiving office of the political party United Russia, which has been working in the capital of Pridnestrovie for 4 years. According to Sergey Chizhov, during this time, more than a million requests were received from Pridnestrovians. The issue exercising many of them is Russian citizenship. Most of today's requests are focused on the same topic.

People are asking for help with the acquisition of Russian citizenship, ask to sort out the problems that arise when exchanging a Russian passport. Today Nadezhda Tinova asked for help from the Society of the Blind. She said that many disabled people who were brought up in boarding schools lost their originals of birth certificates, so those people used a duplicate of this document.

“But they don’t want to grant the Russian Federation citizenship using a duplicate. So I decided to appeal to you, the deputies of the Russian State Duma. I hope that you will help to somehow resolve the indicated problem,” Nadezhda Tinova said.

Russian parliamentarians asked that every person who had that problem write a statement on their own behalf. The State Duma deputies promised to deal with each case individually.

The global issue of the Pridnestrovian State University status was voiced by the rector of PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko Stepan Beril. He noted that the university operates on the basis of Russian standards and implements the same education as any university in Russia.

“De facto, we are an accredited Russian-style university. The point is that we still have the opportunity to work within the Russian education system,” Stepan Beril said.

According to the rector, for this it is necessary to give PSU the status of a Russian-Pridnestrovian university. Stepan Beril stressed that that would provide a different level of support for our university, including funding. Also the rector noted that that status would allow our university to develop synchronously with Russian universities in the Russian education system.

One of the questions asked during the reception was about working with youth. Marina Kovaleva, the Head of the capital's Youth Center, asked about how young people from Pridnestrovie and Russia could interact under current conditions. She also expressed a wish to learn from Russian colleagues' experience in this area. The deputies exchanged contacts with the Head of the Youth Center and promised to help in this matter.

“We will talk to our colleagues so that you can be included in the various events that are currently taking place online. For example, the Young Guard holds forums, including educational ones. We will organize this interaction, I think that your guys will also be interested in this,” Artem Turov said.

Following the meeting, he noted that over 4 years of work of the receiving office, there were positively resolved about 76% of the issues. Artem Turov emphasized that that was an important assessment of the work to support compatriots for the deputies.

“More than 200 thousand Russian citizens live on the territory of Pridnestrovie, there are also compatriots. This connection is very important for us. Some State Duma deputies were elected from this land, and, of course, communication with citizens and compatriots, the ability to help, answer questions is the duty of a deputy of any level,” Artem Turov said.

The parliamentarian noted that interaction with Pridnestrovians was not limited to personal meetings. He also stressed that the deputies considered the reception of citizens to be a fairly effective way of communication and support of compatriots.

“We have already talked to colleagues from the Renovation party about the fact that we are ready to turn on, including remotely, via video communication, and hold similar receptions with all regions. For us, information from people is important since it gives an understanding of what is happening and how it is happening now,” Artem Turov said.

In his turn, Sergey Chizhov stressed: a public reception is a tool that opens up space between the people and the authorities. In his opinion, this is how communication with all citizens is constructed.

“We do not divide Russian citizens, compatriots, Pridnestrovians. The receiving office is open to everyone. All requests are registered, they are evaluated carefully, and solution algorithm is developed. After that, the issue is resolved at different levels of Government, as needed,” Sergey Chizhov said.
