Pridnestrovian State University signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Russian Presidential Library

Representatives of the Russian Federation expressed interest in relevant literature published by the Pridnestrovian University

Tiraspol, November 11. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation with B.N. Yeltsin Presidential Library.

The event was held online. After discussing the details of the agreement, PSU Rector Stepan Beril and Acting Director General of the library Pavel Tereshchenko put their signatures in a historically significant document on opposite sides of the screen.

“Pridnestrovian State University is the largest scientific and educational center of the republic. It includes the largest library in Pridnestrovie, numbering more than one million copies, including those on electronic media. For us, the university begins with a library, while the book remains the main source of knowledge. Signing of such an agreement, which allows us to gain access to scientific literature, is very important, because it enables scientists to get access to one or another scientific literature and sources in time,” PSU Rector Stepan Beril said.

The conclusion of an agreement with a library of this level is an important stage in the Pridnestrovian State University development, as was noted during the meeting.

“This is very important for the Presidential Library, which is part of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation and implements statutory tasks in terms of the formation of storage and implementation of access to digital resources in the field of theory and practice of Russian statehood, history, law and the Russian language as the official language. It is important to support both the educational process and the cultural aspiration of Pridnestrovie, which is close to us in many ways - both in language and mentality. In order for our resources to become available for the goals and objectives that the Pridnestrovian State University sets and successfully solves,” Director General of the Presidential Library Pavel Tereshchenko stressed in his address to the meeting participants.

Representatives of the Russian Library expressed their interest in the fact that the Presidential Library stock received relevant literature published by the Pridnestrovian University.

“We work very closely with the university. Due to its multi-ethnicity, it is a reduced model of the Russian World in Tiraspol. Indeed, more than 30 ethnic groups work together to create, work, and carry out serious scientific work in some areas. On behalf of Rossotrudnichestvo, I can assure you that we will continue to assist in cooperation between Russian scientific structures and the Pridnestrovian University in every possible way,” Nikolay Zhuravlev, Coordinator of Rossotrudnichestvo Programs in Pridnestrovie said, expressing gratitude to both parties for such an important contribution to the development of the educational system.
