Tiraspol, November 9. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The realization, that Pridnestrovie and Moldova are two different countries is gradually coming not only to politicians, but also to civil society actors. This opinion was expressed on the air of the First Pridnestrovian TV channel by the director of the Bureau of Political Studies “Mediator” Sergey Shirokov.
Commenting on the recent first round of the presidential elections in the neighboring country, he reminded what programs some of the candidates brought forward.
“The presidential candidates of this country (Moldova – ed. note), and there were several of them, bring forward a program of destroying their own country, liquidating statehood and uniting with a neighboring country (Romania – ed. note). These people receive the status of presidential candidates and go out to the people with such programs. Personally for me, this is one more confirmation of the deep crisis of the Moldovan statehood and the fact, that Moldova is still a failed state,” he explained.
At the same time, incidents involving politicians and combatants, which prevented the freedom of Pridnestrovian residents’ movement, confirm the final breakdown between the banks of the Dniester.
“These are the mottos “Drive away to your place!”, “Let us elect our own president!”... The border is now felt not only in the field of national development policy, it’s already obvious at the society level. When we talked about the fact, that we were different, it was clear to us, but, apparently, now it has already reached the depths of Moldovan society. We only once again confirm the correctness of the chosen path. By these events, both we and the whole world around us see, that we are another country, another people, another state,” Shirokov said.
