The Pridnestrovian delegation to the JCC called on the Moldovan colleagues to refrain from provocations on the polling day in the Republic of Moldova

Appeal to the Joint Control Commission in connection with the appeals of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova No. 23-18-1905 and 23-18-2027

In response to the appeals of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the JCC No. 23-18-1905 dated 30.09.2020 and 23-18-2027 dated 22.10.2020, we note that the issues of organizing the electoral process on the territory of the Republic of Moldova are not within the competence of the Joint Control Commission and its working bodies, handling aspects of ceasefire control and security.

The issue of electoral process and related technical aspects, including the organization of voting in institutions subordinate to the Republic of Moldova on the territory of Pridnestrovie, is being discussed between the parties to the political negotiation process: Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. As appears from public sources, the required decisions have been made by the parties.

At the same time, in the context of numerous statements by the political forces and paramilitary organizations of the Republic of Moldova about plans to use force to prevent Moldovan citizens permanently residing in Pridnestrovie from voting, we call on to make efforts to ensure stability, personal security of citizens and law and order in the area of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.

We warn the Moldovan side against any plans to implement threats to the physical security of Pridnestrovians who made a decision to vote on the territory of the Republic of Moldova on November 1, 2020. We also call on the Moldovan party to refrain from the practice of blocking the exit of military observers of the three sides and Ukraine if incidents occur. In case of provocations, the Moldovan side will bear full responsibility.

Co-Chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie O.L. Belyakov

Members of the JCC delegation from Pridnestrovie S.G. Kucheryavenko, R.V. Slobodenyuk, K.M. Kalinenok, O.A. Obruchkov, P.V. Mikhailov
