Rower from Tiraspol Kirill Shamshurin won gold and silver medals at the World Cup in Hungary

He took first place in a canoe pair with Ilya Pervukhin at a distance of 1000 meters

Tiraspol, September, 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. From 25 to 27 September there took place the World Cup in rowing and canoeing in the Hungarian city of Szeged. The Russian national team also included the honored masters of sports Kirill Shamshurin and Alexander Dyachenko, who are trainees of the Pridnestrovian sports school.

With all the major competitions of the season canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the World Cup was considered by all top athletes as an opportunity to prove themselves internationally. Not everyone succeeded in this, since the competitive program was significantly reduced. A lot of disciplines were simply absent.

According to the State Service for Sports of the PMR, there were no competitions in kayak pairs at a distance of 200 meters, and therefore the current world champions Alexander Dyachenko and Yuri Postrigai competed in single rowboats. Alexander Dyachenko reached the semifinals.

Kirill Shamshurin first started in a single rowboat at a kilometer distance, where he took eighth place. Together with Ilya Pervukhin at the same distance of 1000 meters, they won gold medals.

The Pridnestrovian athlete also competed in the final form of the program - the long-distance race for five kilometers. Here he ranked second, losing eight seconds to the winner.

Thus, Kirill Shamshurin's properties include gold and silver medals of the World Cup, as well as three gold medals which were previously got at the Russian Championship.
