Chairman of the Supreme Council urged not to politicize Pridnestrovian quarantine posts

Alexander Korshunov stressed that they are exhibited to counter the spread of COVID-19

Tiraspol, July 22 ./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov urged the Moldovan authorities not to politicize the topic of Pridnestrovian quarantine posts on the border. The Speaker of the PMR Parliament recalled that they are exhibited to counter the spread of COVID-19. According to Alexander Korshunov, the leadership of Pridnestrovie should do everything possible to protect the health of its citizens

''I urge my colleagues from the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova not to politicize quarantine posts. These posts are put up to prevent the large-scale spread of coronavirus infection. According to statistics, on the right bank of the Dniester, the dynamics of coronavirus development are an order of magnitude higher. Even with the harsh quarantine measures that Pridnestrovie took, we still suffered losses. We have 50 people who have already died. The budget spent more than a hundred million on the fight against COVID-19'', Alexander Korshunov told at the press conference following the results of the spring-summer session of the parliament.

The Head of the Supreme Council noted that the number of victims of the pandemic and the spent resources would be an order of magnitude more if it were no tough management decisions.

By the evening of Wednesday, July 22, 21,798 people fell ill COVID-19 in Moldova, 712 patients died. Just today 356 new cases have been recorded.

In Pridnestrovie, from the beginning of the pandemic, 1,440 people felt ill with coronavirus, 50 of them died.
