Vadim Krasnoselsky met with Claus Neukirch

The PMR President met with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev, Ambassador-at-Large in the rank of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Slobodenyuk, Chairman of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank Vladislav Tidva, and General Director of CJSC Interdnestrcom Sergey Ganzha took part in the meeting. This composition of the Pridnestrovian side is not accidental - banking issues and telecommunication issues are included to the agenda of the meeting.

A little more than a week ago Claus Neukirch with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Meyer-Harting visited Pridnestrovie. After that the European delegation held a number of meetings in Moldova. Today Claus Neukirch is again in Tiraspol to continue the long-started conversation. Anticipating the discussion, Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed the hope that the identified problems will be resolved in the near future and that the long-running conversation can be moved in another direction - there are still a lot of open questions in the relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

Speaking about banking interaction, namely restrictions on the use of international payment systems Visa and Mastercard, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the problem is not only in the economic plane. It is about social policy and violation of human rights. Pridnestrovians are especially keenly aware of this during the period of quarantine restrictions - about ten thousand Pridnestrovian pensioners of Russian citizens cannot cash out pensions in the PMR.

The mechanisms of constructive development of the “5 + 2” format and the need to resume full-fledged activities of working (expert) groups was discussed by the participants in the course of the meeting. The PMR President considers that well-being of citizens on both banks of the Dniester River often depends on stable and coordinated relations between neighboring states.

Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to the OSCE for its support and attention to the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
