Tiraspol, June 1. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie announces the return of neighboring Moldova to destructive inhumane methods of blocking the import of drugs into the territory of Pridnestrovie, which are especially necessary during the fight against the pandemic.
PMR Foreign Ministry statement said that by initiating closure of all checkpoints on the border with Pridnestrovie by Ukraine, Chisinau continues to block imports of essential goods into the republic in order to put pressure on Pridnestrovie.
To date, five vehicles with medical supplies for Pridnestrovian pharmaceutical companies have been blocked at checkpoints on the territory of Moldova, some of which have not received proper clearance for a week now.
The Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of the Republic of Moldova sent an official notification to Pridnestrovian importers demanding that all administrative and bureaucratic procedures be completed, including provision of imported drugs in the Moldovan registry.
The PMR Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that that requirement was inexecutable for Pridnestrovian suppliers and actually blocked the delivery of about 70% of the entire range of medicines produced by the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the EEU countries and other states to the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
“Pridnestrovie declares a relapse by the Moldovan authorities of inhuman blockade measures to limit the supply of vital medicines to the republic in the middle of a pandemic, which confirms political nature and artificiality of the problem.
Another stage in restrictions is a blatant violation of universal human rights and freedoms by Moldova, which poses a direct threat to human health and demonstrates true attitude of the Moldovan leadership towards people of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Pridnestrovie calls on the Moldovan leadership to change their minds, to avoid repeating past mistakes and urgently remove restrictions on the supply of medicines.
We urge international participants of the 5 + 2 format to get involved in the situation with a view to resolving the problem as soon as possible and provide assistance to exclude disruption in medical products supply to Pridnestrovie created by Moldova” the PMR Foreign Ministry`s statement said.
