Chisinau refuses to comply with the Protocol on Mutual Recognition of Documents of 2001

Pridnestrovian side demanded to provide official explanations to Pridnestrovie and all the international participants of 5 + 2 format

Tiraspol, May 29. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Representatives of the Republic of Moldova stated at today's meeting of the Subgroup on Banking Issues that Chisinau no longer intends to execute the Protocol on Mutual Recognition of the Validity of Documents, the press service of the PMR’s MFA reports.

''In this regard, the Pridnestrovian side demanded Chisinau to provide official explanations to Pridnestrovie and all the international participants of the 5 + 2 format,'' it is said int the press release.

The Protocol on Mutual Recognition of the Validity of Documents was signed by the Presidents of the PMR Igor Smirnov and the RM Vladimir Voronin. According to paragraph 1 of the protocol, the following documents were recognized on the territory of Pridnestrovie and Moldova: civil registration certificates; identity cards and passports; driving permits and certificates of vehicle registration and license plates; documents on education, etc.
