The President gathered representatives of the Operational Headquarters for the Prevention of Distribution of COVID-19 in Pridnestrovie. The need for urgent meeting is connected with the coronavirus situation in the village of Varnitsa, in which 2200 citizens of the PMR reside. The night before, it became known about two confirmed cases of coronavirus among the residents of this locality (infected persons were placed in medical institutions in Chisinau). Varnitsa borders with the large Bendery microdistrict Severny, with a population of over 3000, was noted during today's meeting. A decision was made to temporarily isolate residents of the coronavirus-affected area to prevent the virus from entering Pridnestrovie. Crossing the border in direction of Bendery is prohibited. The PMR Ministry of Internal Affairs organized posts. Vital activities of the settlement will be provided. The delivery of food and medicine is under control of the Operational Headquarters. Local pensioners will receive required monthly payments on time, with the only difference that social workers delivering pensions will deliver money on the street in compliance with all safety requirements. They will be provided with protective equipment. Recipients are required to maintain a quarantine distance.
They spoke at the meeting about upcoming flights that will deliver passengers from Russia to the Chisinau airport. There is a possibility that among them there will be Pridnestrovians. Customs and border structures were entrusted with paying increased attention to these citizens. All of them must be examined and quarantined without fail.
As for the measures taken as part of the declaration of a state of emergency in Pridnestrovie, their clarification continues. A legal framework has been prepared allowing catering establishments to work in the culinary mode, selling products, but not allowing crowds and prolonged stay of citizens in the premises. Trading facilities, the administration of which considers that it is capable of ensuring the security of employees and visitors being on their territory may apply for permission to the Operational Headquarters. Each case will be considered individually. Another solution is to expand the list of checkpoints through which citizens who have received special permission to enter the territory of Pridnestrovie are allowed.
Sewing of protective masks continues as planned. “Tirotex” will begin to manufacture medical gowns by state order in the near future. The factory has experience in this direction: this type of product was previously exported. The idea to start sewing protective overalls was abandoned: according to the doctors themselves, the use of robes is more appropriate from the point of view of the convenience of their quick change.
The President asked about the progress in organizing the work of the quarantine isolator on the basis of the Slobodzeya district hospital. According to the first deputy minister of health Christina Albul (she is entrusted with the leadership of the center), work is ongoing. By Monday afternoon, it is planned to prepare two hundred beds for the possible reception of patients. In an urgently created quarantine-type medical facility, in addition to the main, infectious in essence, wards, there will also be children's, surgical and maternity wards.
The President urged the meeting participants to be attentive to the slightest changes in the situation, to quickly exchange incoming information in order to be able to respond to any challenges in a timely manner. A headquarters meeting is scheduled for Monday morning.
