As part of business trip to the capital of the Russian Federation, the Pridnestrovian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev met with Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Gubarev. The meeting, held at the Russian Foreign Ministry, was also attended by Deputy Director of the Second Department of the CIS Countries Vitaly Tryapitsyn.
A comprehensive discussion was held on the current negotiation process situation between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Vitaly Ignatiev noted further degradation of the dialogue between the parties due to the Republic of Moldova’s refusal to fulfill its earlier obligations under the package of agreements "Berlin +" noting as well that Moldovan side takes new restrictive measures towards Pridnestrovie. In this context, the PMR Foreign Minister informed the Russian diplomat about the remaining problems of bank accounts, politically motivated criminal cases and the import of various goods in Pridnestrovie. Specially, the Minister focused on the fact that the Republic of Moldova introduced restrictions on Pridnestrovian vehicles and on the incident as to the PMR citizen abduction.
During the conversation, diplomats agreed on the inadmissibility to apply unilateral measures while the ongoing negotiation process. Underlying the importance of the international participation involved in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement, the interlocutors emphasized the need for a rhythmic work at all levels of the negotiation structure, including the “Permanent Meeting ...” platform.
Further discussing, Vitaly Ignatiev and Sergey Gubarev touched upon plans and prospects for cooperation in various fields for the coming year in the context of Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation.
Ending the meeting, interlocutors agreed to continue regular working communication across the entire spectrum of relevant areas.
