Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR urged his colleague from Moldova to fight crime, not to enter politics

Ruslan Mova responded to the statements of the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RM that some citizens who committed crimes in Moldova hide in Pridnestrovie

Tiraspol, January 30. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie continues to assist colleagues from Moldova in the fight against crime even though the RM does not actually implement the agreement on cooperation in the law enforcement sphere. Thus, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR Ruslan Mova responded to the statements of Pavel Voiku that Pridnestrovian police refused to capture citizens who had committed crimes in Moldova and allegedly hid in Pridnestrovie.

“Given the short tenure of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, it is easy to explain such weak awareness of Pavel Voiku in this matter,” Ruslan Mova said.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Pridnestrovie reminded that in 1999 an agreement on cooperation in the law enforcement sphere had been signed between two departments: the police of the Republic of Moldova and the police of Pridnestrovie. In September 2004, for farfetched political reasons the Moldovan police leadership unilaterally withdrew from the agreement and did not actually implement it. The relevant order was signed by the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova.

“It is not hard to guess how many criminals took advantage of this unilateral decision. Over the past two years, we have sent 723 directly concerning the security of citizens requests to the Moldovan police. We never received an answer to any letter,” Ruslan Mova informed.

At the same time, the Minister noted that despite Moldova's refusal to implement agreements, Pridnestrovie understood the importance of cooperation in crime fighting and continued to provide assistance to law enforcement agencies of the neighboring state.

“Over the past two years, we have received 142 requests from Moldovan state and commercial institutions. None of them was unanswered. We are always open to dialogue and cooperation. Regardless of the political situation, we are ready to assist our colleagues in the fight against crime,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed.

The lack of interaction on the part of the RM has already led to tragic consequences. Ruslan Mova marked a recent case in Beltsy. A citizen came to the police and confessed to murdering in Tiraspol. But the Moldovan police just let him go. A few days later, he committed a triple murder with particular cruelty and cynicism.

“He took the life of a 35-year-old woman and two 44-year-old men and burned their bodies. That's how interaction is really going. These deaths are on the conscience of those who put political ambitions above human life. And there are many such examples,” Ruslan Mova said.

He stressed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Pridnestrovie was open for dialogue at any level.

“We wait for at least some information about mythical criminals hiding on the territory of Pridnestrovie, from any channels, even unofficial,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR noted.

Ruslan Mova also commented on Voiku's concern about the crime situation level in Pridnestrovie.

“In this matter, he was framed by his assistants again. The security level of Pridnestrovian citizens is much higher than in Moldova, and the detection of crimes exceeded 92%. We hope you will be able to ensure the same security level for your citizens. The police assessing criterion in any state is citizens credibility level, not loud statements in Parliament finding the perpetrator of their failures. Professionals are focused on the crime fight and the safety of people, not politics. In turn, we expect that the Minister of Internal Affairs of Moldova is a professional,” Ruslan Mova said.
