Tiraspol, December 29./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Soltis is planned to be installed in Minsk next year by May 9, the Belarusian media reported. The author of the monument-bust will be the famous sculpture Hizri Asadulaev, who won the competition of sketch projects.

It should be noted that one of the streets in Minsk is named after Ivan Soltis – a native of Kamenka district of Pridnestrovie. The monument to the hero is planned to be placed in the crossing of the streets of Soltis and Vaupshasov.

Ivan Soltis was born on September 5, 1923, in the village of Kuzmin, Kamenka district. He left for the front in the spring of 1944. On February 11, 1945, when the village of Luisenthal was liberated, he sat on fire, thus ensuring that the unit would make a combat task. For the valor, bravery and courage shown in the battles against the German fascist invaders, the Red Army soldier, Ivan Soltis was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously. He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Luisenthal. In the Kamenka district, the polytechnic college, the school of the village of Kuzmin, streets and alleys are named after the hero. In his native village, there is also a monument.

In addition, it is also proposed to name one of the Minsk streets after another Pridnestrovian, Hero of the Soviet Union, Sergey Balgarin.

He was born on October 10, 1925, in the village of Korotny, Slobozea district. During the Great Patriotic War, he distinguished himself in the battles for the liberation of Belarus. For this one he was awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union in 1945. A monument was installed near the village of Porechani near the railway bridge in honor of his feats. In the village of Korotny on the building of the school he studied at, a memorial plaque was installed.
