Tiraspol, November 27./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Minister of Social Protection and Labour of the PMR, Elena Kulichenko met the Human Rights Adviser-UN Resident Coordinator in Moldova, Bea Ferenci and the National Coordinator of the UN High Commissioner Office, Olesya Peryan, the press service of the department reported.
Elena Kulichenko told the guests about the implementation of measures of social protection and support of people with disabilities, their families, about the development of Paralympic sport, as well as about assistance to orphans and left without parental care and about work with families.
Issues of the upbringing of children with disabilities were also raised. According to Elena Kulichenko, in Pridnestrovie, there are centres for children with disabilities, which allows parents to work and provide the needs of the family.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed promising directions of bilateral cooperation in terms of respect for the rights of people with disabilities and their employment.
The guests were also interested in the interaction of the Ministry with the Roma community of Pridnestrovie.
"We had no problems interacting with the Roma community. Moreover, in order to implement joint measures in the field of assistance in the payment of benefits, compensation, social services, employment and re-qualification of Roma it was signed an agreement on cooperation and established relations with Shater na Dnestre (Tent near the Dniester) Roma Diaspora" , Elena Kulichenko informed.
Issues related to the protection of human rights and the implementation of Thomas Hammarberg's recommendations were also discussed. In conclusion, the sides expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation.
