Tiraspol, October 11. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Tourism can develop only in the peaceful and equipped territories and therefore Pridnestrovie has quite good prospects. It was said by a professor of the Leningrad state university Dmitry Sevastianov during the plenary section devoted to development of the tourist sphere within the VII Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum.
The scientist emphasized that the recent years tourism began to develop in the PMR. However, it is still hard to reach to indicators of the 1980th years when the region was visited by about 300 thousand tourists.
«Modern Pridnestrovie should strive for this result, and there is a tendency for it. Gradually the number of tourists coming to the republic grows. Pridnestrovie becomes sunny and hospitable again», - Sevastianov told.
The expert focused attention that tourism cannot develop irrespective of a social and economic situation in the state, ecological conditions.
«Tourism cannot develop if the Dniester River becomes soiled and shallow. No dredging works have been carried out for many years, it reduces the appeal of the republic. The Dniester is a brand of Pridnestrovie. And this aspect needs to be meant at tourism development», - the participant of the Forum concluded.
