“According to Strategy for the Development of Pridnestrovie until 2026, one of the main areas in improving the quality of our citizens’ life, improving the country economy is to achieve economic self-sufficiency. For this purpose many projects are being implemented that will be discussed today,” the Ministry of Economic Development head said.
Speaking about the future of the Pridnestrovian economy Sergey Obolonik noted that the growth rate of investments compared to last year was 146%, which was a good indicator that allowed looking into the future with confidence, cooperating with investors and creating a competitive product.
The Ministry of Economic Development head expressed confidence that the forum would allow to evaluate the proposed ideas, take intermediate results and form future projects that would contribute to the development of the Pridnestrovian economy, cooperation with investors and improving citizens’ quality of life.
The Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum are held in the republic for the seventh time. It was first held in 2009. Since 2016, the event has become an annual event and is held under the patronage of the PMR Government.
The PIIEF-2019 brought together representatives of Pridnestrovie, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Poland, Romania, Austria, Israel, France, Germany, Italy, the United States – in total 22 countries. The forum will last two days. The topic of the meetings is diverse: the potential of Pridnestrovie in terms of developing trade and economic relations with the CIS and EU countries, the introduction of modern technologies in business processes, tourist trends and their application in the PMR, investments in IT technologies, the interaction of government and business as the basis of socio-economic growth, youth policy, the environment and much more.
