Tiraspol, September, 30. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In August 2019, using rapid remittance systems, $ 8.97 million was received from abroad in favor of individuals, which is 6.1% less than last month. At the same time, this amount is 11.2% more than the amount received in the republic in August last year.
According to the PRB, in January-August this year, funds totaling $ 66.9 million were transferred to individuals through these channels. This is more than last year level by $ 5.2 million, or 8.4%.
CIS countries remain the main region sending remittances to the republic: in August 6.01 million dollars or 67% of the total amount, were received from neighboring countries. Revenues from European Union countries amounted to 1.38 million dollars or 15.4% of the total transaction volume.
The main counterparties for transfers from abroad are Russia, Israel, the USA and Germany.
“In August this year, 92 states acted as Ordering Customer for the republic residents. Compared to the same period last year, their number increased by 12 countries (Libya, Nigeria, Monaco, Côte d'Ivoire, Bolivia, etc.),” the Bank of Pridnestrovie said in its press release.
The Central Bank clarifies that last month the money transfers volume sent by individuals from Pridnestrovie amounted to $ 2.96 million, which was 15% less than in June, but a quarter more than a year ago.
In general, in January-August this year individuals’ transfers abroad were estimated at $ 20.66 million, which was $ 2.44 million, or 13.4%, more than a year earlier.
The largest transfers from the republic by private individuals in August this year were made to Russia, the USA, Ukraine, Turkey, Israel, Lithuania, Belarus, China, Georgia and Moldova. Together these states accounted for 95.5% of the outgoing transactions total volume.
