The PMR President met with compatriots in Moscow

They discussed issues of migration policy, social benefits, subsidizing house purchasing by young families, a simplified procedure for granting the Russian Federation citizenship

Tiraspol, September, 26. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Representative Office of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was opened in Moscow at the beginning of this year. Hundreds of Pridnestrovians living or temporarily staying in Russia have already applied here for support and advice. Meetings, forums, round tables are held on there. While on working visits in Moscow, the President and the state authorities heads and the republic government held receive citizens at the Representative Office. This time it was especially crowded. The compatriots’ communication with the Pridnestrovian state head was organized in an expanded format. Vadim Krasnoselski was the initiator of the event.

The goal was to found out about the Pridnestrovians’ problems away from their homeland, what difficulties they have faced and whether they have planned to return to Pridnestrovie. Another important point was to clarify what needs to be done so that the principle of “there is no place like home” worked. In addition, an important task was to inform as many compatriots as possible about the true situation in the republic.

The Representation room hardly accommodated everyone who wanted to take part in the discussion. Not only Moscow Pridnestrovians arrived at the meeting with the leadership of the country, but also those who live and work in St. Petersburg, according to the press service of the head of state.

Welcoming the interlocutors, Vadim Krasnoselski noted that remoteness from the homeland should not mean isolation from it. He spoke about the importance of full and high-quality information about Pridnestrovie.

“Pridnestrovians know almost everything about Russia, sometimes they are even better informed than the Russians themselves. But in Russia little is known about the true Pridnestrovie, and even immigrants from the republic and those who are temporarily outside its borders, due to circumstances,” the PMR President noted.

He emphasized that the republic is attractive for citizens today. Safety, economic stability and social justice are a priority. Vadim Krasnoselski stressed that the country was developing continuing the path chosen by the people for recognition.

“With regard to non-recognition ... I often discuss this issue with foreign colleagues, with Europeans, with representatives of the OSCE Mission, with participants in the “5 + 2” format. What is important for a person? First of all, probably, peace, law and order and security. Environmental stability and social justice are important. These are the factors that determine a person’s life. What is the the states recognition value on whose territory there is a war, where there is no social justice, where there is a poor environment, corruption flourishes, there is no law and order and security. Ask any person where he would like to live: in an unrecognized state, but in peace or in a recognized one but in war? The answer is obvious. The factor of non-recognition or recognition is very subjective and does not fully depend on us. But the inner component depends on you and me - peace, the rule of law, enforcement of the law, environmental balance and social justice. We are responsible for internal stability. And the fact of recognition is a technical matter. We are ready for recognition. When all external players are ready, then it will take place. But we need to continue to develop our state, because they only recognize the strong and self-sufficient ones,” Vadim Krasnoselski shared his vision.

The event was held in two stages. The first part is introductory. “Pridnestrovie: a Time of Transformation. The State for Life”- the Chairman of the PMR Government Alexander Martynov presented an illustrated report on this topic. He recalled the situation in the country's economy in previous periods, about what measures were taken to overcome the deplorable situation and what results have been achieved to date. All transformations are aimed at making the life of Pridnestrovians more comfortable, Alexander Martynov said.

He spoke about the thousands of jobs created in the real sector of the economy, about those returned to operation and the creation of new enterprises, and about investment projects that are being implemented and are being prepared for implementation. Infrastructure changing that was had been take place thanks to the state program of capital investments, have not gone unnoticed. Operating only the second year, it allowed to repair and build hundreds of social facilities - schools, kindergartens, houses of culture, medical facilities. Hundreds of thousands of meters of roadbed and public transport fleet and ambulance services were updated, the head of the Pridnestrovian Government said, reinforcing the words with specific numbers. Among the participants of the meeting, who first learned about many aspects of Pridnestrovian reality, information about the operation of the affordable housing program and the subsidized state-sponsored project launched caused particular revival and sincere surprise. With admiration and pride, they studied materials demonstrating how the recreation areas in the settlements of the republic and the venue of cultural events were changing.

They raised the topic of a protracted solution to the issue of Moldova’s termination of politically motivated criminal cases against Pridnestrovians, giving examples, naming names, describing the fate of specific people uprooted from their homeland. They talked about volunteer defenders of the PMR. They asked questions regarding social benefits, rights and guarantees.
