Tiraspol, July 6. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today in Tiraspol there took place the festive actions devoted to the 24th anniversary of the creation of the Operational Group of Russian Forces (OGRF) in Pridnestrovie. They were organized on the territory of the OGRF headquarters. The President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky with the spouse, the Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva, representatives of the Government and the public became the honor guests of the holiday.
«The battle flag of the OGRF blows over Pridnestrovie as a symbol of peace for each citizen. It is a guarantee that the republic is under reliable protection of Russia. It will not allow bloodshed and fratricide on coasts of the Dniester», - the chief of the OGRF, guard colonel Dmitry Zelenkov emphasized.
He addressed the special words of gratitude to veterans. There was a minute of silence in memory of the fallen companions.
«We, soldiers of great Russia, with all respondents claim that we will do everything possible to preserve peace on this land», - Dmitry Zelenkov concluded.
The President Vadim Krasnoselsky reminded that Russian soldiers have been on coast of the Dniester for centuries and they have always been inseparably linked with the history of Tiraspol and all Pridnestrovie: «Russian, Soviet and modern Russia soldier have been protecting peace on our land since the end of the 18th century till nowadays».
The Head of the state remembered names of the outstanding Russian commanders who left a mark in the history of our land. In particular, Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the general Mikhail Dragomirov – our compatriot directly related the OGRF.
«Once he headed the 14th crew of the Russian Empire which was in Tiraspol. Its headquarters were in the place of modern headquarters of the OGRF. Mikhail Dragomirov is a father of Russian Imperial Army military tactics. Soviet military leaders were trained on its traditions», - the President told.
The Head of the state expressed gratitude from the people of the republic to each Russian serviceman for the peace on the coast of the Dniester. The presidential decree of the PMR several servicemen of the OGRF has noted the medals «For Strengthening International Cooperation».
In the headquarters of the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie, there was the concert program, an exhibition of the equipment and arms.
By tradition, everyone could taste the soldier's porridge and fragrant tea.
Demonstration performances of the military personnel of the OGRF finished the program.
